Yes, I just want to say for the record that this rule is antiquated and the dumbest rule in fantasy baseball.

I think having four or five more hitters than pitchers is the dumbest rule, considering that almost every team carries 12 pitchers now. It made sense back in the Founding Fathers days, when teams were just starting to go with 14 position players and 11 pitchers instead of 15/10, but now--no.

Let's stop grousing for now and revisit the rule in question before NEXT year's draft.

The list on Yahoo showed him as available.

Also, the list on the front page of the draft thread shows me taking Tanner Roark in round 21, when I actually selected Luke Hochevar.

              • Oh, I know.

I'm disorganized as hell for this draft. If I came across as irritable it's as much at myself as anyone else.

Thanks to everyone who has been working hard to keep things in order.

Roark was taken by me in round 21.

Agreed. I don't care either way, but filling the active roster was how it's been done in Mock One every year. So, we should call that out next year before we start.

                    • We are all caught up, Silentmist on the clock until 11 am, followed by 1 pick for MJ, both pitchers, to finish out the active squad. Then we revert to "the heat" to start reserves, Round 23, no more roster requirements.

The Yahoo entries are up to date, Eovaldi wasn't on the available list, he is on mgwizz (Gone to the Dog) as his 20th round pick. The MDC site is also up to date, but for some reason Roark isn't in the database there, so that pick is vacant for will.

Nick Castellanos is slated to be the everyday 3B for the Tigers this year, but doesn't have 3B eligibility yet. If you draft Castellanos with the expectation that he'll be your 3B or CI, this rule forces you to take another player you don't plan on using after 1-2 weeks five rounds too early.

I disagree with the "five rounds too early". You draft Castellanos to your OF, leave your 3B or CI open until late and take a place holder, and take the best OF you can with your first reserve pick. Meanwhile, you can work on other areas, perhaps filling five other spots earlier (and better) than you would have.
