No surprise there. He didn't hit or field nearly well enough to offset the hotdogging when he hit the occasional HR. Perhaps a month with the 51s will bake some sense into his head.

When manager Terry Collins informed Jordany Valdespin that the Mets had decided to option him to Triple-A Las Vegas Saturday night, the exuberant utilityman snapped in anger in the visitors' clubhouse at PNC Park, yelling furiously while his startled teammates looked on, according to two people who witnessed the episode. The witnesses requested anonymity to speak freely on the matter.
Bullpen coach Ricky Bones had to calm Valdespin down, according to one witness.
“He’s not helping himself,” one person said of Valdespin. “Everyone gets upset when that happens. But you just need to shut up and pack your bags.”

Yes, but they need to actually get some VALUE from these guys. One or two bad apples is to be expected perhaps. But to consistently release these guys and get nothing in return? At some point you have to look yourself in the mirror.

The Wilpons need to go. If you keep picking bad GMs, after a while there's nobody else to point the finger at.

Does EYJr have a future with the Mets? Is there anyone pushing him for the CF position anytime soon? I don't know enough about contract status -- from http://www.baseballprospectus.com/co...orado-rockies/, is it accurate that next year will be his first arb year?

EYjr absolutely has a future with the Mets. Barring injury you can pencil him in everyday in the OF and leadoff spot for the foreseeable future. He's not playing CF much though since his arm is nothing special. LF has been his home most nights. The Mets have nothing in the pipeline that's close to any OF spot, so it's wide open for him. Lots of rumors Choo is going to be a pretty big priority for the Mets this offseason since there is a need and a huge Korean population in Queens.

I believe that is accurate about arbitration.
