Did you miss him barely hitting .150 this year?

I'd rather he hit 15 HR's and be an actual productive hitter rather than him hitting an occasional HR and then doing nothing else but strikeout.
And that's exactly what he was in the second half last year: .255/.346/.566 with 20 HRs and 64 Ks in 251 ABs. But don't let that get in the way of your anger!

    • ESPN is now reporting that if Davis doesn't show some signs of life this weekend, he'll likely be demoted.

Because there's no better strategy for improving performance than the threat of a demotion based on performance in three games. Same ol' Mets.

How could he have really gotten demoted anyway? He's already on the Mets.

              Cold, man. Cold.

Maybe your Braves should hire the Mets' crack medical staff. They seem to keep going down for Tommy John.

(Was bummed to see O'Flaherty go down with a torn UCL... guy was money!).

Nothing wrong with the Braves' medical staff; our pitchers go straight to the top and skip the levels below Dr. Andrews. Our problem is bullpen usage patterns that practically guarantee certain set-up guys are going to tear something sooner or later---Venters' injury has just been a matter of time for a couple of years now, and once Venters went down, who picked up those extra, every-day type innings?

                • If you get swept by the 2013 Marlins, you should just pack it in.

                  • Lemme guess if you see an old lady walking with a cane, you're the type of guy who kicks the cane out making her fall.

This is old news. Did you wait till the Phillies got to .500?

                        Hahaha this is great.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

                          Don't encourage me.

The Mets packed it in when Shawn Marcum became their big free agent get of the offseason in late January. I hope they lose 100+ games. If you're going to be bad then BE BAD. Get a top 3 pick and maybe have a hope for the future.

With all the cicadas around here i've been thinking of adopting their life pattern in terms of my Met fandom. For the next 17 years i'm going to bury the Mets deep into my soul and then in 2030 i will release the Mets fan side of me back in the active side of my brain and maybe just maybe Fred Wilpon will be dead by then and his son in jail.

Woohoo Lets go Mets. 2030 is your year!

Mets signed OF Rick Ankiel to a one-year contract.
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman was the first to report that the two sides were talking. Ankiel batted just .194 with 35 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances before getting released last week by the Astros, but he has some power and a big arm. The 33-year-old should see semi-regular playing time in a New York outfield that lacks talent. He's starting in center field Monday night against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Mets PR guy Jay Horwitz had a funny tweet. The national spelling bee was just won by a kid from Queens. Jay said Kirk's last name was the winning word!
