Yahoo considers Kelly both an SP and an RP, so he can take any pitcher.

      I stand corrected. Thank you!

I'd feel a lot better if you also said that about some non-Astros

But I did read an article Jason wrote where you guys were finally convincing him not to take pitches just for the sake of taking them, so hopefully that works and you're right.

        • I was surprised to see that Eovaldi had the fastest fastball among MLB starting pitchers last season.

I can't really give my opinion about non-Astros publicly. I have data behind my optimism on Grossman, but it doesn't do a lot of good to talk about that since I can't share it, either. So I just say I have good hopes for him this year.

There you go again with the ethical behavior. That's no fun for the rest of us.

If you have something good to say about a player, convince your team to trade for them, then tell us.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

Funny thing is, you can love a player on another team, but it's really hard to make a transaction happen. There are so many things that have to line up for a trade to even get to the conversation stage, and maybe 10% of the conversations turn into actual trades, if that.

And liking a player is relative. You can be sure that if we make a transaction, chances are very high that I liked the player we got. But that may not make them a good fantasy acquisition. Role players who are better than the role player we had before, or younger and with potential for growth in the future, don't particularly make sense on fantasy rosters. For example, I think Carlos Corporan is one of the best backup catchers in the league. Part of that is on the strength of his catching skills. But what good does that do you guys?

It tells us WHY and how much he plays, and can tell us WHEN he plays (which helps those in daily leagues more). It tells us that while he may be a fine real baseball player, we're fairly safe in avoiding him. It tells us that he may have a fairly long career, and some "defensive specialist" catchers learn to hit late in their careers.

So, while it doesn't help us much right now, it points out someone to keep in mind.

He sure knows how to take a walk, so that would make him a decent leadoff hitter. But what's with his high CS%? At his last three stops in '12 & '13, he had 34 SBs with 26 CS! The red light has to come on soon, no?

so this morning, mgwiz22 picked before the clock started, so it starts at 9am EST. silentmist timed out at 11am EST. MJ times out at 1pm EST (in 10 minutes), right? and does MJ time out twice for being on the wraparound, or just one 2-hour timeout?

                        • if you time out once, you will not get the 2 hour waiting period when you next come up. In this case, both NJs picks wil be skipped when he times out the first time, as will silentmists next pick.

Once a person is skipped, they don't get another 2-hour clock.

No. We are still under the 4hr time limit. After Moonlight J picks in rd 20 we will go to the 2 hour time limit. Silentmist times out at 1pm EST. MJ times out at 5 pm EST.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.
