Even then ... news broadcasts on other channels ... radio in the car on the way home from work ... overhearing conversations waiting in line for a coffee etc.
I haven't heard any premature results on any Olympic events at all. Every single news outlet I tune into on the Internet for anything Olympic-related is showing SPOILER ALERT on any headlines.....something some folks around here could learn to use, come to think of it.
ESPN and Yahoo aren't showing any warnings, and both are leading with the days results. CBS also up to date ... although Olympic results relegated to side headlines.

Even someone who stumbles onto espn.com might see ONE result (yes, likely a bg one) and then decide to jump off. And then probably mostly skip going there for a week or two.
I stopped following about 10 sportswriters on Twitter who are covering the Olympics for the time being - not because of spoilers but because they were jamming my feed line with comments about a spectacle that doesn't interest me anyway.
I'll bring most of them back after the Closing Ceremonies.

They don't let horses do Central Park carriage rides when it's above a certain temperature (95?), so there's precedent for sidelinings if the temp isn't "right."

China has become embroiled in the first doping controversy of the London Games after one of the world's most respected coaches described the swimming prodigy Ye Shiwen's gold medal performance as "unbelievable" and "disturbing".
Ye stunned world swimming on Saturday by winning gold in the 400m individual medley in a world-record time. It was her final 100m of freestyle, in which she recorded a split time of 58.68sec, that aroused Leonard's suspicion. Over the last 50m she was quicker than the American Ryan Lochte, who won the men's 400m individual medley in the second-fastest time in history .

It is not illegal to use VPN's, and I'm not sure if there are any laws preventing someone using a VPN to access a website like the BBC ...
Seems like every 10th tweet with the #nbcfail hashtag contains instructions on how to access the BBC website.

No one in the U.S. needs to use the BBC website. NBC is also streaming every athletic event live and for free at http://www.nbcolympics.com/. (everything except the Opening and Closing ceremonies).
