I don't like Romney and I wouldn't vote for him but some of the attacks are a bit William Ayers reaches for me.
Too many people took a deep breath and relaxed, and we got W.

And tell the truth...did you have any damned idea who Bill Ayers was before Fox made him a boogie man? Who calls him "William" Ayers, anyway?

            When they do, I do

New reporting cites strong evidence that Mitt Romney wasn’t actively managing Bain Capital while he was running the Olympics, despite what the Obama campaign (and some news reports) would have voters believe. Dan Primack, a senior editor at Fortune Magazine, reports on previously confidential “offering documents” that Bain circulated to potential investors in June 2000, September 2000 and again in January 2001. And he says that in each of those three documents Romney’s name is conspicuously absent from lists of senior investment managers at Bain.

"On a media conference call about the Globe story, Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s deputy campaign manager, said the story proves that Romney had “full control” of Bain during this time and “therefore directly responsible” for decisions made at companies in which Bain invested. “Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony. Or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investments,” Cutter said.

But we see little new in any of these SEC filings, and a University of Pennsylvania Law School professor we spoke to sees no basis for the Obama campaign’s claim that Romney committed a felony.

None of the SEC filings show that Romney was anything but a passive, absentee owner during that time, as both Romney and Bain have long said.

And we wish to note, we’re not alone in this judgement. Others include... [Washington Post, Columbia Journalism Review, Fortune, ABC News] "

No kidding. The stolen emails simply proved the fraud rife in the "publish or perish" set of university participants in the "global warming" set.

I did! I did! Of course, part of my family cut their teeth in Illinois politics. The whole Ayers issue isn't whether he was a violent scumbag or not - he almost assuredly was, and reinforced it in a 2000ish interview - but whether he really was the influence on Barack Obama the hard right likes to claim. I doubt it.

and Cutter's statement was a large over-reach. She should have stuck to the character issue as that could stick.

If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Never did get one from Chancellor regarding global warming and the infamous stolen emails that supposedly disproved global warming......
JJ, in his campaign to not be a shill for any party or candidate, has blundered into being a shill for FactCheck What people need to understand is that when they seek endlessly after "balance" they'll find it every time if they're willing to simply reject the concept that sometimes there just is no balance in a story-- it is exactly as it appears.

If Jason is smart, right here. There was a reason I enforced a ban on those idiotic "vacation" bets. I think that Chance's politics went from being reasonable, grounded ideas that I largely disagreed with to OneJayHawk/RotoRooter with a better vocabulary over the past year, but this concept of him being forced to remove his opinions from the conversation for any amount of time based on an electoral outcome is antithetical to everything this forum was founded on when I debated with Byron for its creation. For all the BS over the years, nobody was ever banned from this site for their views with the exception of spewing racism in the case of SharpTalons. To create a regime where people are "self banned" over their ideas or predictions can be summed up in one word-- idiocy.

Well said. Agree or disagree, we'd be a poorer place without chance.
