  • I know I'm up. I'll pick when I pick. It's the weekend and I'm not always near a computer.

ETA (And my priority right now is making sure Spurs crush Swansea at home. Then I have a giant mirror to dislodge from my bedroom wall and I promised my oldest I would take her ice skating at 1. Busy day in the LJ household.)

"Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?"
"Certainly. You take the blonde and I'll take the one in the turban!"

Half my family are Spurs supporters ... I'm all in on the Leicester City fairytale this year, but Spurs would be a nice second best.

Here's another one to double check: http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...itcoca01.shtml
I figured I had maybe a 10% chance of winning on my last pick. I also knew that in order to give myself the only chance of winning, I had to basically give up my best options at pitcher - because I didn't know where the most points would come from (a ratio guy? or a w/k guy? or a balanced pitcher?).

I've only skimmed the list from the last 2 rounds, but all my top options have predictably been taken.

I'm on it now ... not hopeful at all. Need Eld to have got hit hard in close hitting categories ... seriously doubt that occurred ... AND ... that's assuming ElD's my biggest opponent, because I really have not been paying close attention in this draft.

          INB4 I finish 5th

Congrats to ElDiablo ... back in the winners circle!

              • I know this is such a Poguesian thing to say, but I'm going to say it anyway.

When I made my 11th round pick, Dick McBride, and my final 1870s player, I decided to see where I stacked against the competition. I figured I had a huge advantage at that point, and I could spend the rest of the draft making up ground on the field in front of me...because at that point I was pretty far behind.

I deduced, looking at what positions and 1870s slots left that I had a reasonable chance of catching everyone. Well, everyone but El Diablo. At that point (and here's the Poguesian statement) I knew it was Diablo's draft to lose...he would have needed to make a few stupid picks to give away the win.

                Congrats Diablo!
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

                  • Pick made. I couldn't find anyone besides Gus Weyhing to make up the half point or so on Johnny for 2nd, so I'll settle for the show.

Nice job, ElD and Johnny, and I'm thankful to be done with this one!

Yeah, I knew I wasn't catching Diablo, so I was just making the right pick to hold you off

Bill Hutchinson was not the kind of pitcher I would ever have considered considering my team make up.

                        • Congrats ELD you prove you are a worthy Multitasker. Making picks - going to school , being a dad all while eating a Bag of Dicks!!!!!

I almost took Walter but This whole draft I was only rushing in and spending time on it as it was my turn. I truly expected mid way to walk off a cliff. Probably my only good moves was to get both my catchers and 2 1870 players in the middle of the draft before the bottom fell out on both for me. Again congrats to Eld , Johnny and Revo!!!!

                              • The next draft needs to be after the end of the fantasy baseball draft season, as like Hacko, I was only spending time on this when it was my pick. I don't mind picking out a format, however.
