I moved up to Legends Level V, and I'm now consistently getting my ass kicked, even in daily games. I need to enter a league and get shelled just so I can rank down.

yeah, I try not to be one of the first people into a league so I can see if there's anyone whose ratings are all more than 1 higher than mine.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Yeah, be the last or 2nd to last in. At the legends levels (51+), they black out the other teams, so you have no idea who you're up against.

They're likely not paying -- they're camping. You just sit at a certain level for a few extra days or a week, build up the RPs through daily games, and train up your players. You can't just enter new leagues every day, because by the time you get to the higher levels, you'll be woefully behind.

I'm sitting at level 10, playing for about 5 days now. Should I just camp here for some time? Or should I move up to a higher level and camp there? My record is 84-47, which reading here isn't that great.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

Yeah, that's not a great record. Do you know that if you hit the Daily Games button again, it will give you a new set of competitors? You should only be playing games you have a 95% chance of winning. If you're not there yet, then camp for however long it takes you to get to 95%. Are you training your players?

if they have a record of, say, 8-0, and all of their pitchers have ratings of 5+, etc., then it's clear they're paying, not camping.

i'm having the most trouble figuring out how to keep a good record at the lowest levels. you have to play leagues to get to level 8 to open up training, and in those low levels (especially the first few, where you don't even have options to opt-out of league play or adjust your lineup) it seems difficult. i'm usually ending up with about an 80% win record, but it seems hard to get beyond that...

Regardless.....I wouldn't worry one iota about those levels. You won't be able to control anything until you can train your players.

I am training my players, but probably not as much as I should be. I have to stay on top of that.

I'm challenging people when I'm above 85%. I haven't seen higher than 91%, so camping I will go!

Yeah, use up the majority of your RPs on training, and then use your dough to train 3 players a night. I usually only use RPs to move up in the draft if the player is far superior to the guy I have.

ahh, interesting. i'd been doing it the other way around - spending to trade up in the draft and not using RP on training. i'll swap that around.

That's interesting. Is that just for purposes of trying to hit milestones? It seems like a guy who's level 1 and has the same stats as your heavily trained guy would be superior, as he'd level faster, or is there something I'm overlooking?

I had been too, but I suppose it's the case that you can buy quite a lot of levels for the 300 RP it costs to move up to first.

another question - do you concentrate on pitchers or hitters first, or a balanced approach? i've tried all three, and don't see a significant difference, but maybe i'm missing something with that too .

Not that I know any better than you, but I've been doing mostly hitters but making sure I have one good starter, because you can get them multiple starts in leagues and have a good shot at winning Ks, and you can use them to win Pennant games that are annoying if you lose because of how few you get per day.

eta: also I think there is zero reason to ever buy or train a RP, at least at the level we're playing at.
