Personally, I'm probably taking Verlander there. But, that requires a small leap of faith in a 41 year-old pitcher that most people can't take.

The first two picks are Jose Altuve and Gleyber Torres.

I am currently on deck. Surprisingly, no pitchers taken yet.

Am I stuck taking the fish I threw back? is Verlander still worth this level?

    Schwarber goes 3rd.

    4th is a bizarre pick--Max Muncy

    5th is Teo Hernandez

I am offering my pick but don't expect many nibbles.

Back in the days of cards and dice, we would set the player card out on three big tables--IF, OF, and Pitching. You would have three minutes to pick up a card. Toward the end, you might have three people browsing.

One time I was browsing the OF and couldn't find one I liked, so I called the name of the pitcher I wanted. The guy in line after me literally had the card in his hand. Since he hadn't turned it in the Commish ruled my pick was valid.

Keepers are declared, so the list of available players will become official soon. I'll post the top several when I am coming up. The clear first pick is Altuve but it gets murky soon after.

228 players were kept. The list is too long to load.

Good one, and the stakes were high.

Here is a look at how the first half of the draft looks for my team. Still coming Wyatt Langford and some prospects, but the commish hasn't posted that far yet. The OP should give you some idea of the value available in rounds 5 - 9. Inflation is significant early.

Another contender posted his roster. As is typical for him, tons of SP.

He got Goldschmidt and Judge from me in separate transactions years ago. I'd the Goldschmidt deal again since flags fly forever. Giving up Judge as a prospect value is one of my true regrets.

    C Murphy
    1B Goldschmidt

    MI Donovan

    SP Means
    SP Perez
    SP Peralta

I don't have him and someone else will keep him.

What I did not realize, because I didn't check, is that Yamamoto is one of the off-book picks. Mine is Langford.

Update: Keeper declarations have started. I'll post significant players released.

Our returning Champion brings back Freeman, Soto, Yordan, and the best SP in the league--Gausman, Castillo, and Lopez. For bargains, he has Nolan Jones in the 11th, Alzolay in the 15th, and Jackson H in the 22nd. He's had Soto for 7 seasons. Next year he finally has to pay retail.

I'm the second in case that was not clear.

Our third kept players he should have thrown back. I move up a pick in round 4 (the first actual round)

Our # 2 is holding things up. I inserted a guess based on my evaluations and his style.
