Thanks DQ! I had mapped out my innings for the last week so perfectly. I even correctly benched Buchholz in the blowout against the Yanks; mainly cause I didn't want to be conflicted and just root for the Yanks. But it all worked out and now this guy is crying about it. In his first message he said it wasn't sour grapes though 10 plus messages later (still with zero punctuation) I begin to wonder if it is in fact sour grapes.

Can't be sure with no punctuation but in his post doesn't he say a few people are over the 1400 innings? If so, does he want all of them to step aside? Does that mean the 6th place team can now move up to 2nd? This guy is just whining because he didn't think of it. Next year you will have almost every team doing the same thing.

So wait, the guy who is doing all the complaining actually went over the limit himself?!? That's rich. So apparently, it's ok to do what he considers to be breaking the rules, but only if you do it a little bit as opposed to a lot? If so, who determines where the unwritten line is that renders the alleged rule breaking so egregious that the purported rule breaker should thereby forfeit certain statistics? I agree wholeheartedly with the rest here, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what you did, it happens all the time in my leagues and I have done it too. For what it's worth, I'm also in an ESPN league, and instead of an innings limit we have a maximum "games started" limit of 175. You can game ESPN's system in the same way, in that, if you're sitting on 174 games started, then the next day have 5 starting pitchers lined up, you get the stats for all of them such that you would end up with 179 games started. My point is, I think this is pretty much a standard practice, if that guy wasn't aware of it and got out maneuvered by you because of his ignorance of the rules, too bad for him. He'll know better next year.

Two guys responded actually agreeing with him. Then the commissioner posted the thing about the rules and how what I did was withing the rules and no one else has offered their opinion. This league is mainly people that work at a bar I always go to. They invited me in and Sour Grapes is one of the owners of the bar so he's not going anywhere. His last message claims that he didn't call me a cheat or a liar (saying those are my words) which is kind of more insulting that he won't own up to his actions. I'm not going to respond anymore and assume I won the league. If that's the case I'll see how things are over the winter, talk to the commissioner, who I know the best out of everyone, and gauge whether I should be back (or even be welcome back). Who knows.

Haha. Good question. I don't go there very often anymore since I've moved out of the neighborhood. But I won't avoid the place because of this.
