What's your take on DeShields, since he has to stay up all year?

I'm pretty surprised by having two college guys ahead of Schwarber. Is that just the catcher discount in effect?
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

              Thanx for the response, J.

I think DeShields will remain a valuable fantasy commodity this year. He continues to produce and Texas doesnt seem to have any better 3rd OFer options rt now, unless they want to put Gallo in the OF and there's no indiciation so far they will rt now. So, Delino will continue to play as long as he produces. And he's always had talent so his performance shouldnt be a complete surprise. The surprise is that he's getting the everyday opportunity.

In that vein, why is Chichi Gonzalez so low? Granted he was pressed into service a bit early, but he was a solid prospect back in A ball.

DeShields was a good prospect in the BA/R/SB vein. DD does not have Dyson's glove, so he needs to hit more. IIRC rhd had him top 50 two or three years ago. The BA had not come as fast as some hoped. After all, he spent more time in the minors than his father had.

I can only assume it's because Chi Chi is/was regarded as having the ceiling of a #3 starter with a modest K rate (and he pitches for Tex in a small park).

Interesting picks. Not sure even Prince Fielder (good version) would hit that many HR in Marlins Park. And the Dodgers sure seem to have plenty of pitchers (and money to burn to get more via trade or free agency). Hope both work out for you though!

Why did Otani move up so high? Haven't heard news of impending transfer. Also did Despaigne reappear due to Ban from Mexico league alone or is there news of him coming over also?

                          Thanks as always

What's your take on D.J.Peterson's struggles so far this year?

RHD, what do you think of Ruddy Giron?

DeShields was a good prospect in the BA/R/SB vein. DD does not have Dyson's glove, so he needs to hit more. IIRC rhd had him top 50 two or three years ago. The BA had not come as fast as some hoped. After all, he spent more time in the minors than his father had.

Thanx for the response, J. Sorry I'm so late responding to this.

Gonzalez was #68, which doesnt strike me as low. He's been excellent so far in his limited MLB time but he was a back end Top 100 guy coming into the year, altho some liked him a lot better, and I havent heard anyone raving about him. I'm not confident he can keep up the elite performance, but he'll continue to move up the list if he does. But his eligibility probably will expire before the next list comes out. He's up to #59 now.

I've already said what I have to say about DeShields and I'll stick by it. Of course, now he's hurt and it may be iffy for him to get his playing time back now that Rua is back, w Gallo still up and Beltre due back at some point.
