I had two lined up for my last slot, and debated back and forth. Hot Stuff is disco fluff, but the guitar work is really nice. I also thought strongly about You Gotta Move, from Sticky Fingers. In the end, I just had to go with Harlem Shuffle. I actually had hoped someone else would grab it, but somebody had to roster it. So that was me.
It was fun looking at all the previous versions. If you get the chance, watch the Wayne Cochran. He's rocking that white Pomp, and has some serious James Brown dance moves. The clip I found was from a local television show in Detroit from 1966. I think he would have been a fun act to see.
Stones doing Disco was a complete sell out! Almost worse than Starship doing Built This City!! I said almost.
Miss You was actually a good disco song, second only to ELO's Shine A Little Love in the Sellout Disco Songs By Rock Artists category. :jackson:

I dunno. I might have to make room for "I Was Made For Loving You" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" for mass sellout suckage.
And there are no good disco songs, only some which suck less than others.
Could be a short music draft...disco songs that don't totally blow.

I have to disagree big time Lucky. There are plenty of excellent disco songs, the people who don't agree just don't like disco. I know it's tough for middle-aged white men to like disco
The first 10 on this list are all really cool tunes. With plenty more scattered throughout.

People who are old enough to be exposed to a lot of really bad disco in the '70s -- and annoyed by its omnipresence -- may have come to resent it. Those who don't carry such baggage and mostly know disco from the good stuff that lasted are more appreciative of it, perhaps.

This captures the whole thing in just a couple of sentences.
There are still some disco I like, especially a lot of the disco/funk tunes. The things that drive me nuts are songs like "A Fifth of Beethoven" and anything where they took another song and re-arranged it to the cliche disco beat.

Not to mention it blocked a lot of good rock, which added to the resentment.
One good thing came out of it; girls stopped wearing blue jeans and started dressing up to go to the clubs. It was kind of nice.
