I liked Avatar much more than Hurt Locker. Avatar at least had some great visuals. HL seemed to go nowhere.
I'm sorry, man, but I've got magic. I've got poetry in my fingertips. Most of the time--and this includes naps --I'm an F-18, bro. And I will destroy you in the air. I will deploy my ordinance to the ground.

I loved Inglorious Basterds. I'm not a teenager, but I'm certainly immature. I have also picked up (and read!) a history book.

Agreed on Crash - I didn't understand what people liked about that.

For me it's Lost in Translation. Everyone seemed to love that movie but I was really bored.

Avatar was cool with the visuals, but I thought the movie itself was atrocious.

Hurt Locker actually won Best Picture, FYI.

As far as Inglorious Basterds, I loved the whole "feared" Jewish Death Squad and how they took down most of the Nazi Party. I recommended this movie to my mom, who surprisingly enough, also loved it. Maybe it's a Jewish thing.

Last I checked I was Jewish.

I did like the Jewish death squad angle, but it wasn't on screen enough. I thought the Shoshana thread dragged ass.

Moulin Rouge. Utterly horrific sh!te. If this doesn't make your testicles shrink, you are not a man.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all."

Spinal Tap...just didn't think it was funny. I gave it two chances.

Will not need to see Inglorious Bastards again.

                Being John M....hated it.

Avatar- didn't see it and really have no desire to.

How were you roped into seeing that in the first place?

The same way any of us gets roped into it...

Any man who sits through Moulin Rouge has every right to demand anal.

One of my all-time favorites. Although I admit I don't find much of the Christopher Guest mockumentaries to be very funny.

Not sure I'd go that far, but it's definitely the most overrated movie I can think of. We've discussed this before b/c it has its fans, but I agree it was drek. Best picture?!?! Totally ridiculous.

ETA: bb was referring to Crash

If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

I saw Blue Velvet in previews a week before it came out. The entire audience (myself included) found it dreadful.

I also second "Meet the Parents" version 1 or 2 or 3 and any more as dreck
"Something about Mary" was wretched too

i like "clockwork orange" and "the shining" a lot. i wouldn't say i didn't like "2001" - i just don't think i processed it all in one viewing. maybe it's a film you gotta watch a few time to absorb it all, like "donnie darko."
