As a boy, I was always a good little Sheep - studied hard, stayed out of trouble, yadda yadda yadda. Enjoying this from the sidelines. I love a bunch of Petty songs. As others have said, he has so many awesome songs and the dude was seemingly everywhere in the 80's. Hope you dont mind me chiming in now and then.

My Refugee story isnt romantic, but it was hilarious to me and a friend.
I was friends with 2 brothers who liked to antagonize each other. When Refugee came out we were all on the 14-16 age range. One day the song came on and the older brother, in all seriousness, pronounced the song "Refudgie". Well his brother and i laughed so hard and for months we made fun of that.
I havent seen those 2 guys in over 25 years......sigh
