  • Good argument.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Understood. I was jdging based on ads in my state that clearly stated she used bad judgement, and Bernie's was better. Definitely called the email issue a scandal, but didn't even imply it was criminal.

Bernie has been good about not calling Hillary a criminal. However, the very use of the word "scandal" is pretty loaded. Scandal is generally defined as an action which is regarded as morally or legally wrong. People exercise bad judgement often without reaching the threshold of conduct which is morally or legally wrong. But over the past couple of decades, every time Hillary passes wind someone calls it a scandal.

            • I have no problem with Sanders using hyperbole like every other politician. My main problem is him continuing in the race and deceiving his supporters that he can still win and if he loses, it's only because the system was 'rigged'.

              • If he fully supports her once he drops out, then all will be forgiven. I expect he will, but as I mentioned earlier, he seems to have been corrupted by coming so close.

I have no problem with hyperbole either. Hyperbole is exaggeration, and a time honored tradition. I've been using it since the 1930s. Accusing someone of being a criminal, however, is not hyperbole. It is defamation. And I would give a billion dollars if politicians would refrain from the use of defamation.

Right, but 'scandal' isn't 'criminal'. I honestly thought it was a big mistake when he said in the early debate, 'everybody's tired of hearing about the damn emails'.

It's easy to see he's building leverage, which I believe he has and th the longer he stays in, the more he gains.

He holds the key to Clinton's presidential chances.

And the system, by its very nature, is rigged.

Of course the system is rigged, but he didn't lose because he was cheated IMO.

Correct, but to some something being rigged allows inequity, which could be considered cheating.

Again, we see things 180 degrees apart...

I believe that his leverage is eroding the longer that he stays in a "race" that's unwinnable and doesn't support the candidate. Here's an article about that, and his future in the senate as a power player...

Iss the left turning on its darling, Bernie Sanders? On Friday, Netroots titan Markos Moulitsas, namesake of the liberal Daily Kos, dropped a rhetorical bomb on the Bern, blaming the candidate for doing too little to denounce death threats received by the Nevada Democratic Party after Sanders’ state convention delegates complained they had received unfair treatment. “The problem isn't Bernie Sanders' supporters,” Moulitsas wrote. “It's Bernie Sanders himself … [He] refuses to forcefully and unambiguously reject that violence, instead rationalizing and explaining it away with a mix of grievances and outright conspiracy theory.”

Actually, Sanders hasn’t lost much support among his most avid supporters—who do not include Moulitsas, a sometime critic. What we are seeing, however, is that it’s no longer taboo in liberal circles to attack Sanders as he drags out the nomination process at a time when many are itching to turn their fire on Donald Trump. And if his reputation in the party is being damaged outside his base, that will make it harder for him to extract concessions from Clinton regarding the platform and party nomination rules at the convention.

And I honestly don't think that he has much of a hand in Clinton's future...if he says to vote for her, it'll help, but unless he runs as a 3rd party candidate, Dems will by and large fall in line by November, and Trump will lose resoundingly.
