'The federal law includes a so-called “quiet period” provision that prevents states from removing voters less than 90 days before an election. The provision is meant to prevent last-minute mistakes.'
This isn't really difficult to understand, why do you struggle with it so much?
Again, why do you want non-American's voting in federal, state or local elections?

I didn't realize you were this naive on this topic though. What you or I think *should* be the case in utopia doesn't always align with the law.
Which should we follow, what I personally think should be done, or what the letter of the law states? Do you think the laws should just be all flexible and constantly changed or should we establish rules and then stick by them? Pick one then we'll talk.
I'm sure you didn't think this through very far. MAGA doesn't think much past surface level, so you are running the standard play here. By your measure it's simply "NON CITIZEN BAD", without thinking about the consequences. So if I report that you are a non-citizen should you immediately have your right to vote removed? Or no? Should there be some time and thought put into whether it's actually the case? Should we establish a point in time after which the rosters are set and you can't just throw out objections? Seems reasonable. But I'm sure this is all just a lead up to a repeat of the MAGA "it's not fairrrrr I'm taking my ball and going home" garbage again so using logic isn't likely in the MAGA argument.Last edited by Ken; 10-31-2024, 12:14 PM.

Look at that, exactly what I predicted happened:
A Stafford, Virginia, man learned Thursday that his name has been purged from the state’s voter rolls.
State officials say the purge is aimed at removing suspected noncitizens from the rolls, but Zecarias Berhe said he’s been voting since he became a naturalized U.S. citizen decades ago.
“I was shocked to hear that,” Berhe said. “I said, ‘What human being would do that? Why would they do that?’”
Berhe said he got a call Thursday morning from a local advocacy group telling him his name was among about 1,600 removed from Virginia’s voter registration rolls.
On Wednesday, a divided U.S. Supreme Court allowed Virginia to continue the purge effort.
Berhe, 74, said he has been proud to hold a U.S. passport since becoming a naturalized citizen after leaving his native Eritrea 50 years ago.
But wait... half a brain... damn that rules out the MAGA cult, nevermind.

But if you are just grasping at straws and name calling then I guess this is your last ditch effort. What an incredibly ignorant opinion. It's staggering how incredibly stupid you'd have to be to say something like this. But again, MAGA cult, makes sense. Your fearless leader does the exact same thing.
