There hasn't been a clear answer, but I think that you have to lose the rounds that you keep a player in...makes little sense to do it any other way. So in my case, I don't pick in the 12th and 14th rounds.
I think Daye costs 4 rounds.

So I think if you still want Daye, he'd be a 12th and then Humphries would be an 11th.

          One note of clarification.
If a player is drafted, then dropped and picked up by another owner, does he retain his original draft position?

          E.G.
          Mr.Basketball is drafted Round 10.
          Would he be:
          A 6th rd keeper or
          a 12th rd keeper?

(I think 6, but given I didn't catch the "minus" it is best to ask)

Keepers - We keep 2 players per year:
No keepers drafted in Rounds 1 through 3.
A player drafted in Rounds 4 through 8 can be kept at Round-2.
A player drafted in Rounds 9 through 18 can be kept at Round-4.
A player not drafted who you picked up as a free agent can be kept at Round 12.

You keep any 2 players. Does not matter where he was drafted from rd 4 on. If you have two players that are going to cost the same rd (say two rd 5 keepers) then one will be moved up 1 rd.
It might be too late to do anything about this now, but it seems "odd" that an 8th rounder can be kept with a 6th round pick when a 9th rounder must be kept with a 5th round pick.

I took Andruw Bynum in round 9 last year instead of round 8 because I assumed that there was an advantage in doing so.

In this situation I have always had it that his draft status NEVER changes. So Mr. Basketball would be a 6th rd keeper.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

Reverse order of final standings, I think. SoPaul gets Chris Paul if Paul wants Paul.

Oh, not random? I don't recall this being decided ... or discussed? Did I miss it?
How do ties get dealt with?

And JB was last right? Wouldn't he get first?

I don't remember it being talked about last year. Well never like the present. I will set up a poll for it.

Understood, but we could say that wherever the cutoff ended up, ya know? I think we just have to keep it as is.

                            Maybe three tiers next year.

                              That's why I never interpreted

"A player drafted in Rounds 4 through 8 can be kept at Round-2.
A player drafted in Rounds 9 through 18 can be kept at Round-4."

as round minus 2 or round minus 4. It makes no sense to do it that way or have it cost more to keep a free agent pickup (give-up a 12th round pick to keep) than to keep a 17th or 18th round pick.

Split the difference next year. No keepers in the first 3 rounds. Rounds 4 to 18 can be kept at round minus 3. Undrafted players are kept at round 15.
