I've already heard ads offing money back guarantee (up to a 10 buck entry fee, IIRC), so if you're theory is correct, the end isn't far away.

I know that there are a lot of good people in the industry, but the few bad actors are going to doom DFS, and that's not a bad thing. It grew way too fast with no thought to the future, and essentially it was doomed once it's employees were outed as being big winners.

By "investor" do you mean "customer?" No, I don't believe any customer deposits are in any danger. Now as far as "investor money," yes, that could be in danger.

I meant customer but your answer was better than my question.

Are there any firms funding this? private equity? banks? why are they so quiet?

Agree 100%. I withdrew my funds around the time this thread started. I understand it is different than poker, but seems like there's enough risk that withdrawing is wise.

There's the chance that accounts get frozen by the feds or states. And how ethical/organized do we really think these sites are? There's an outside chance that the advertising blitz (They are everywhere. I wonder how much they spent?) was funded in part by customer accounts rather than solely by investors.

In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

This internal document is so unintentionally hilarious, it's as if some amateur wrote it, not a compliance officer of a billion-dollar company. But it's also, if 100% accurate, the smoking gun -- it shows they were not only aware employees had access to sensitive internal data, but they did almost nothing to safeguard the data. It also goes 100% against any public statement they made saying that no employees had access to this data nor used it for personal gain.

unfortunately i don't think the industry is going under. massachusettes made a deal and regulated it. and we lead in things like that.

too bad. because i think DFS are like drug pushers in a school zone.

Pompous a-hole Mike Francesa rips a pro-DFS NY Assemblyman a new one over his determination if DFS is gambling or not. This guy must wish he never got on the phone with the Sports Pope:

                          DFS is indeed gambling.

Really? He's known as one of the founders of sports talk radio, having been on WFAN since its inception in 1987 and was partners with Mad Dog Russo. He's also been on CBS TV for many years, but perhaps more recently it's been a local show. As a team w/Mad Dog, they were great. On his own, which he's been for the last 6 or 7 years, man, I hate this f---ing guy.

LOL, don't watch much TV at all and local sports shows are what I listen to so it's no wonder I've never heard him before. I like assholish, opinionated sports guys--I wonder why? :P
