It's routinely available in a lot of places at this point.

Scripting has skewed the usefulness a bit.

I get why it's helpful but I think the extent is being way overblown.

That's the proverbial fox guarding the henhouse...very little chance that anyone buys that IMO.

seriously... how snotty is the "we will take care of ourselves you spend your time and money elsewhere" attitude of the tweets at the end. Because everything has been so above board up to now?

Nevada Sports books experienced a significant jump in action after they shut down DFS in NV. I don't see how they'll get it back up and running in NV without partnering with an established Casino like online poker has had to do.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

New York AG Eric Schneiderman orders all DFS sites shut down in the state. This could be the end.

DFS just got a reprieve yesterday when NJ - the No. 2 gambling state behind NV in many ways - decided it would hold off at the state level because they didn't want to muddy the waters for their sports betting federal court case early next year. Then BOOM, NY - with the most DFS players of any state - lowers the boom.

DFS had 45 states two months ago - the dominoes may fall quickly now.

The hits just keep on coming:

"In the wake of New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman’s cease-and-desist order to DraftKings and FanDuel, a major payment processor%has instructed DFS sites to exit New York immediately, LSR has learned.

Sites like DraftKings and FanDuel do not handle their player payments (deposits and withdrawals) internally; instead, much of that work is in the hands of payment processors and payment gateways that serve as a critical intermediary between players and DFS sites.

The request was sent yesterday afternoon to DFS operators via an email acquired by LSR:
In light of the cease and desist order sent out by New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman related to DFS this afternoon, we must require you to immediately stop accepting players from New York.% Please acknowledge the receipt of this notice and confirm you are updating all location controls to block players from this jurisdiction."

From all I'm reading, Schneiderman is in the pocket of the Aqueduct Gaming Group (based in New York) - casino and parimutuel interests in the NE. Jennifer Cunningham, Schneiderman’s ex-wife and an employee of his AG election campaign in 2010, is married to a lobbyist for Aqueduct. Schneiderman is said to still be friendly and close with her.

Just another corrupt politician making decisions about people's liberty with his own special interests in mind. Gotta love this country.

I don't think it's quite that complicated. Schneiderman is all about making a name for himself (presumably to position as a successor to Cuomo as governor). The latest high profile scandal is ripe ground for that.

I think there are two distinct questions. 1) Was there a good reason for the AG to withdraw from consideration of the issue?, and 2) was his decision wrong? Confusing the two can lead to unwarranted conclusions.

I would think that if you had money still in account that you would want to collect it before the accounts are/closed/frozen/dissapeared

Especially if they start offering more perks than usual. That's when you know the end is near and these companies are just trying to fatten their wallets one last time before screwing everyone.

This isn't like the poker guys, who were all off-shore. These are all companies domiciled in the US. But yeah, if you think there's going to be a run on the bank, go for it.
