I have downloaded baseball data through 2017 (baseballdatabank-master). The pitching data size appears to be exceeding the capability of OpenOffice Calc (an opensource Excel equivalent), so I have installed the latest version of MariaDB (an actively supported branch of MySql). Busy week so I may not have it loaded for a few days. But once it's in there I can combine it with 2018 data and share pitching and hitting sheets. If someone else is doing the same we can use it for comparison purposes - I want to load it to my altervista.org site anyway (free website domain with mysql and php, among other things).

I tried opening a 8mb excel file on Open Office. Let's just say, it would still be "recovering" the document if I didn't intervene

So I just realized something --- I had both of Yaz's nearly identical BYs marked as 1967 in my spreadsheet. So I intended to pick the one with 23 SBs and thought it was 1967 but it's actually 1970.

Does anyone care if I change the BY to 1970 to fix my mistake?

At this stage it shouldn't matter, so I'm Ok with it.

This is why I typically add some defining stat with players that could have multiple years ... just in case I screw up.

This is what happens to me when I try to cannibalize spreadsheets that are more than a decade old. Good call on putting a stat in with the pick. Usually I post the entire stat line, which I think I'll start doing again just in case.
