      In a keeper league, he has a lot of value.

      edit: Plus, he could get on a roll come September and win 4 or 5 games down the stretch. It's nice to get a little boost at crunch time.

              Thompson may not be in a platoon with Joc, but Joc does not play vs. LHPs and Trayce does not play vs. RHPs.

                Expect changes within the Dodgers rotation --- I'd guess Stripling and Wood will both lose their jobs and get sent down unless they perform really well in the next several weeks.
                Alex Wood's K% has skyrocketed over his last 4 starts; somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 K/9. I can't see them replacing him now.

                  Wonder if the Dodgers will play Thompson more. He has been productive so far hitting 2 HRs last night. So far in 72 ABs he has 6 HR 17 RBI. Ave .292 OBP .228 SLG 611 OPS 949. I think he has outhit Crawford, Kendrick and Hernandez combined.

                      They'll probably give him more starts to ride out the hot streak but I fear his weaknesses would be exposed with more at-bats. Ethier should be back in a few weeks which will further muddy the waters but if they give him more starts and he keeps raking then things will get interesting.

                        That may be true but his last 194 AB to last season he has hit 11 HR with a .294 BA. He is hitting lefty equally as well as right. His minor league stats do not support his BA but since he is hitting well why not go with him more often since he has out-performed everybody else playing OF.

                              The best SO/BB ratio in mlb history, for a full season (>=100 IP) was Candy Cummings's 20.50 in 1875. A season where he pitched 416 innings and had 82 strikeouts (leading the league) and just 4 BB. Obviously a different era, since 82 K's led the league.

                              Since 1875, the best ratio has been Phil Hughes's 2014 where he struck out 186 and walked just 16, giving him a 11.63 SO/W rate.

                              Kershaw is sitting at almost double that.

                                fangraphs just did a writeup of the four walks. a couple were pretty questionable. of course, I'm sure some of the strike calls he gets are also.
