Now Beltran is out ... I can't remember the start of a Game 1 like it. Cards hitters look clueless, fielders are treading eggshells, ace can't throw strikes, and now they lose Beltran.
The way that marine was shaping up to sing God Bless America, I thought it was going to be the death metal version. Turns out to be Josef Locke on angeldust.
Karma comes to pay the Cards a visit for drilling Hanley in the ribs in game one of the NLCS...Beltran takes a shot in the ribs and now looks to be in a similar situation to Hanley.

well, that was an interesting ending for game 3. Not just that it ended with an obstruction call, which you almost never see, but it happened inside the base line, which I would have thought was relevant?
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.
Wow, that was an unbelievably ridiculous call. Obstruction? Middlebrooks was going after the ball! How on earth was that obstruction? He had no idea he even tripped him.
