My feeling exactly! Great job Chuckie taking the lead on this...without you, not sure if this would have actually happened. Thanks much!

A question for Todd - in addition to the 36 potential overbids which would affect keeper prices, I would also assume that an "overbid" in free agency does the same? For example, team A drafts David Murphy @ $13. Two months later, team A releases Murphy and a week later Team B bids $25 of FAAB to acquire him. Now Murphy's keeper salary is $25, right?

I had a question about free agency and I'm gonna use your example. Todd, from what said earlier, I got the impression that Murphy's minimum FAAB bid would have to be $13 because that was his auction price. Is that correct or did I misread that? This is the rule I was reading:

The minimum bid for any player who has been on any team’s roster in the current season (i.e. drafted on draft day or acquired as a free-agent) but subsequently released into the free agent player pool, is the higher of the player’s draft day price (list or auction) or the bid amount spent on the player as a free-agent.

        • Yes, that is correct. This is likely the only thing the SWAT is going to have to do, monitor illegal bids of this nature if it were below $13. The plan is to have he league(s) basically run themselves.

          • Am I correct that a player's keeper value is always the highest possible dollar value that could be attributed to him, regardless of method acquired?

              That's how I understand it.

Yuck, Todd, that will be a nightmare to monitor. I assume that we can have OnRoto keep the salary prices on the players even if they are waived, right? So if I were to look at a free agent player it will show what is salary is if I wanted to purchase him. However, I can't imagine they can actually have the software police the actual bidding.

              • Do you guys have a link for the google doc we'll be using for the draft yet?

Also, can we set up the WebEx thingy to allow the use of PC speakers/microphones to comunicate?

                • From using WebEx in the past, the google doc can be linked right into the WebEx meeting room.

Also, the use of PC speakers and microphones can be chosen on each user's end. You can either choose to call in or use microphone/speaker combo.

From what Daren said last week, my understanding is a doc in WebEx will be static and we were hoping to all be able to dynamically update the rosters in Google Docs.

ETA: In other words the document would have to be constantly/periodically edited locally and then uploaded to WebEx, which obviously would be labor intensive and time consuming, as opposed to all having access on Google Docs and adding players as they are selected.

A word document or excel spreadsheet would be static, but a google doc is not static. It is constantly refreshing since it is web based. Should work fine within the WebEx meeting window.

Ok then, that sounds good to me, except would it always be viewable, or would Daren have to be prompted to make it visible whenever anyone wanted to reference it? Where as if you had a separate browser open with Google Docs, you could reference it whenever you chose.

ETA: And would only one person be able to edit it, or all?

Let me run a quick test this afternoon. I'll report back.

                          • For clarification...after 3 rounds (36 picks) all teams will have 3 players?

No. It all depends on when and where owners use their overbids. A team could have six players and a team could have none after three rounds.

                              • Thanks BB. So one could use his 3 overbids to secure and get 3 others through the draft order nomination?
