  • 2015 Idle Hands Farm Draft tracking

This is a thread for the Idle Hands League to track our 2015 Farm Picks, and for any related discussion (the CBS board is less friendly for this type of tracking). I'll update this thread as we go.

To recap this league's key farm rules; In a nutshell, in order to be drafted a player must:

    - Be affiliated with a major league team (sorry Kenta Maeda fans)
    - Be in the minors (recent draftees are fine even if they haven't yet appeared)
    - Have rookie eligibility (130 PAs or 50 IP)
    - Not already have been taken via FAAB or by other means this season, as this changes their contract status

... Starting in round two, we will be going to a four hour clock during the daytime (let's call it 8 EST to 8 EST) and twelve hour clock overnight. We won't skip people in any but the most extreme circumstances (remember --- friendly league!) but let's be courteous to others and plan ahead when we'll have to be gone by providing a list of players to someone to make picks.

And yes, folks that sign as the draft goes on will become eligible. Right now, all draftees are eligible to be signed.

    And the picks are:

It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

I'll be unavailable for the next 2.5 hours. If my turns comes up in that time, I'll pick just as soon as I can (about 4:00 eastern)

I'll be seeing you in a day or so...........

          yeah, first time MiLB draft.

I wish the updated lists had come out just a bit later. Maybe I could have gotten Crawford at 12.

I think friar took him 'cause his name reminds him of Tyler Durden.

Hector Olivera looks awesome. And he is a cuban 30 (38 U.S. conversion), which means he could be the father of a 20 year old prospect and can give clubhouse advice on benefits of afternoon naps. I would have taken him at 1.9 for sure, btw.

As we pass the 13 hour mark waiting for someone to make their 1st pick, I vote in future year we can arrange a 1 hour block at an agreed time to get in a chat room in and punch out farm draft. Or is there a certain sweet anticipation in the slow pick concept that eludes me, like waiting in the bush when hunting that in itself is the pay off?

well for this year it is a way of passing the time during the baseball-less days of the all-star break.

I think I know five of my picks which I should have up pretty soon. Not sure what to do with my 6th pick -- If anyone wants to trade up to spot 18 let me know soon, otherwise I'll try to make that pick in an hour or so.
