  • Jansen back tonight, pitched the 8th and made a statement that he is ready to close now, dammit! 1 inning, 4 Ks, 14 pitches, 13 for strikes. The man needs to get a detergent commercial, because he is just straight up filthy. I need him back closing ASAP. I hope tonight gets him back there soon.

    • Marlins will go with AJ Ramos as closer, according to Dan Jennings, as Steve Cishek works kinks

      • Any advice or prognostications on the TEX pen? I picked up Tolleson as I am in dire need of saves so am willing to gamble. Is this just an attempt to scare Feliz into shape, or could one of Tolleson/Scheppers/Kela emerge as a real closer option?

          • Would you guys rank these closers for this year?

            Street
            Britton
            Robertson
            Holland

I am looking for a closer in my AL only league and these are the best targets on the teams at the bottom of the standings. Britton and Holland can't be kept while Street and Robertson have a salary of $22. For league context, that is the top price of any closer drafted this year; Holland was kept at $20. it's a 12 team league and we use K/IP instead of straight Ks.

            Thanks
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.

            • I have them in reverse order to how you've listed them.
Nod to Britton over Street based on injury risk.

The Holland owner apparently has had two other teams ask about Holland this week and he is not ready to trade him away so it's on to the Robertson owner.

                  • Arizona Diamondbacks' manager Hale: Brad Ziegler the No. 1 guy at closer

                    http://arizonasports.com/42/1835395/...-guy-at-closer

that is after the Burgos SV last night (following 2 more Ziegler scoreless IP to keep it tied in extras) and before the Burgos SV tonite (with Ziegler unavailable)

but click if need be - hope for 3 pitchers there for SV, and don't get too high or low on any. Burgos is Carlos Marmol without the control, lol. Ziegler is Kent Tekulve. Reed is any bland 1990s so-so closer.

Plus the fact that I can keep Robertson next year if I want to though $22 is a little pricey in our league. Thanks

Tolleson got the save tonight. 1 double and the BB was intentional to Papi.
