You know almost nothing about the band or their music. Listening to couple of songs once, hardly qualifies you to make sweeping objective judgments. Who do you think you are? Eldiablo?

I generally find, when dealing with highly subjective stuff I know absolutely nothing about, silence to be the better option ... just sayin'

But you never follow your own advice And that would be pretty boring wouldn't it!!

Thanks for all the work you did Johnny. As always it was a blast....

I'm not sure if I've uttered a negative word all draft that hasn't been in jest. In particular with reference to Rush (which I usually cannot resist)

Considering the stuff you've been coming off with all draft ... hollow words.

            ... and that's not what I said.

But I think it also reflects the fact I was lucky to be 16-21 during that period. If we went longer, I imagine my draft would average out between 1991-1998 as my peak years. I have a lot of late 90's picks I wanted.
No real patterns in my roster...9 80s 11 90s, but much of the music in 1980 still had a 70s feel. It's odd that I have none from '95 or '96 considering 12 of my picks were from '93-'98.

                  1980 111
                  81-82
                  1983 1
                  1984 11
                  1985 1
                  86-87

                  1998 1111
                  1999 1

                        The Vandals
                        Verbal Abuse
                        The Cramps
Things would've been a lot different metal-wise if I had joined in on this one. Hell, I might've taken Reign in Blood in the first round in fear that elD would take it

Finally getting around to listening to some of the bands/songs I'm not familiar with - good stuff so far! I was pleasantly surprised by a song that no one commented on - "Yellow Moon" by the Neville Brothers. All I really know about the Nevilles are those pappy songs on the radio, but this one had a great vibe to it and the falsetto was kept to a minimum.

This is harder than I thought. Looking over my picks, I think they give a fair reflection of my tastes.

Something like this maybe (I could mess around with those rankings all day, so I'll stop):

                          • All i can think of is that "Would I Lie to You Baby" song by one of them (Aaron?) and I hate it. Oh and "Tell It Like It Is" - that sucked too.

                            • Off the top of my head, these are some albums I would've chosen:

Frank Black - Teenager of the Year (might like this even more than any Pixies album - just awesome all the way through)
Pixies - Bossanova (just so I could have a Pixies album)
The Flaming Lips - Clouds Taste Metallic (Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi are awesome, but this one's the most fun)
Led Zeppelin - Coda (just because)
Pearl Jam - Vs. or No Code
Weezer - Pinkerton (really suprised this wasn't taken)
Aerosmith - Get a Grip (probably more of a nostalgia pick, but I loved the hell out of this when I was 13)
Supergrass - In It for the Money (Life on Other Planets is my favorite, but came out in 2002)
Travis - The Man Who (won't help my wuss rock reputation, but just some beautiful tunes on this one)
Billy Joel - An Innocent Man (one of my favorites when I was young)
Minor Threat - Minor Threat LP (assume it would qualify since they didn't really have a proper LP)
Beta Band - Three EP's (allowed?)
                              Brendan Benson - One Mississippi
Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand
GnR - Use Your Illusion I or II
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (to fulfill my female quotient)
                              Pulp - Different Class
                              Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup
Sublime - 40 Oz to Freedom

Then there's the plethora of metal albums to choose from:
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss (with Reign in Blood taken)
                              Overkill - Horrorscope
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Death - The Sound of Perseverance
Accused - Grinning Like an Undertaker
                              Anthrax - Among the Living
                              Megadeth - Rust in Peace
                              Kreator - Coma of Souls
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
                              Sacred Reich - American Way
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
                              Judas Priest - Painkiller
