It is a good question. Normally I don't think you'd want to compromise your SecState in a political milieu during war time, but since Hillary is on her way out they might have given her a major role. Washington Post has to come up with an "insider" take on how this played out. Not like there's any precedent, with a spouse of a popular former President who ran against the current President and may run in 2016.
