"There is involved in this struggle the question whether your children and my children shall enjoy the privileges we have enjoyed. I say this in order to impress upon you, if you are not already so impressed, that no small matter should divert us from our great purpose. "

Originally posted by eldiablo505No, you're racist because you're attributing voting patterns of minorities to being "brainwashed" or wanting free handouts. You're not attributing those same characteristics to whites. Usually you're just a vapid moron but now you're entering right into racist territory.
My wife is of Mexican descent and votes Democrat (mostly). Is she brainwashed? Does she just want free stuff for doing nothing?
Let's be extremely clear here: Minorities know what they're doing just as much as whites do. They vote for the party they believe best represents the things they care about and their interests. They are not lesser beings and do not have to be brainwashed to vote any way they see fit. I wouldn't have thought that needed saying but I guess for some people it does.

BTW Isn't the former President, GW supposed to be at the convention? Maybe he'll show up at the end to take his Debt Clock back.If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Obama definitely campaigned there, and committed to assisting the plant in retooling for fuel-efficient vehicles; I can't remember if it was the Volt or some other car line.
Now, the irony in all of this, is that Janesville's plant was one of GM's most efficient plants in the mid-90s with cutting edge robotics and very advanced control systems. In the '96-97 timeframe, GM offered the new car lines - the first of GM's updated cars with improved fuel efficiency - to the Janesville plant. The workers turned it down since those cars made lower margins and would reduce their bonuses.I'm just here for the baseball.
