My sister in law was looking at the bill she paid a few days ago from a local restaurant and noticed she was charged $50 for two copper mugs that were used for the order of two Moscow Mules drinks. The restaurant puts a charge of $25 per mug on the bill and then takes the charge off when the party leaves. The restaurant clams the charge is to cover the cost of the mug should it be taken by the patron. Well the waiter added the charge and forgot to take it off so my sister in law had to go back over to the restaurant to explain what happened and get the bill adjusted.
I think the manager should have at least offered some type of compensation for having to go back to the restaurant and take care of the matter.
Thoughts? Should the restaurant add this charge? Is it legal to add the charge? Should compensation have be given? If I was the owner I would have offered some compensation.
