So it's ok to make anti Semitic comments and solid paragons remarks about Muslims. And jokes about hindus and Buddhists. Gotcha. Oh wait that isn't tolerated on this board. Allowing comments about my religion is ok though. Thats called being a hypocrit.

In this case it is just detail. This is fundamentally in agreement with Silver's map.

That being said I tend to shy away from making the NY Times the credibility standard of anything relating to politics.

            • Well, I am on record for being a huge fan of Silver, and the fact that he's now on the NY Times blog roll doesn't discredit his research imo.
That said, it's not like he's an 80-yr-old guy with a track record of lapping the field on Presidential predictions for the last 12 races. He had a great 2008, is what he had.

He doesn't seem emotionally tied to anything, which is helpful, but I won't be shocked if another mainstream competitor beats him this time. I am more interested to see if he beats the general pack again.

I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck with that. Which group did you say you were in again. I'm only asking to see if I should care or not!

Yeah, you Christians got it real rough in this country. Someone asks your religion, and you tell them "Baptist", "Catholic", "Lutheran", or "Episcopalian", people don't seem disgusted or appalled. Say you're Muslim, Jewish, Buddhists, and the whispers begin. Tell them you're atheist...I can't even begin to tell you.

Have a Pro-Christian bumper sticker on your car, and people smile. Have a Pro-Atheist bumper sticker on your car, and sooner or later something destructive will be done toward that sticker, or worse, your car.

It goes on and on. Christians...boy you have it rough.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

What I supposed to do with this rant? Are you looking for a response of some sort? You may have missed my attempted sarcasm but that's ok. Hope ya feel better.

This is sarcasm? or do you believe that you are persecuted because you are "christian"?

The comment was intended to point out hypocricy not to say I feel personally persecuted. I was attempting to point out that if I said something hateful about other religions on this board I'd get huge blow back from posters and likely a vacation from the site. But other posters can say anything they want about Christianity and its Ok. Just seems hypocritical to me.

Do I feel persecuted? Nope. Never.

My original point in posting in this thread was not about religion it was about the lack civility between people and candidates in the campaign. This religious stuff has taken on a life of its now, which I had no intent or interest in doing. If people disagree with me, I'm totally cool with that. But why can't we discuss without the stupid snarky commentary. And to be clear I am not saying what you wrote calls into that. I meant the nonsense about labeling Ryan as a huge fraud, blatant liar, hypocrite. In another thread about the recall election a couple of posters were really harsh in their labeling of Scott Walker. I found it interesting that they would feel so deeply negative and strongly passionate about him being a bad guy. Since neither lived any where near Wisconsin it was odd that they would have formed such strong opinions. Oddly they where typically posters who like to bash Republicans. I concluded that the only reason they made those strong comments was because the R after Walkers name. I guess I am troubled by this new phenomenon on both sides. It just seems silly.

you and OJH are comical here.

Silver's analysis is 100000% on the numbers and he routinely smashes the other "experts" out there. His track record speaks for itself.
