Yup, I need to step back! I am the one slinging labels and calling Ryan names. Yup, you're right, Label maker! I love how you say YOUR guy. My guy? I didn't pick him. Speaking of houses and stones, POT MEET KETTLE. And you are clearly the right person to judge people because you know what the intent was of a person. You're certain he lied, not made a mistake! The Label Maker is all knowing!

Only Republicans lie epically. Got it. Wow, you're turning into a full-fledged left winger with your logical counter argument there!

Wow, you and I are finally in agreement on my original point. And, let’s be honest, you weren’t going to like the Republican VP candidate regardless of anything he said.

I think Lucky likes to refer to what you're saying here as a "Straw Man". Did I ever say anything about the politics of hate! Nope, but if you want to go there, I think that was in direct response to Obama not acknowledging the error of his running mate making those off color remarks. Now if you want to look at all the dirty campaign ads, I'm OK with that. Let's look at who's lying and how outrageous those lies are. I think you'll find YOUR guy ain't so squeaky clean.

Do you read? I’m sure but you make great excuses for a guy who supposedly knew what he was getting into. As I said, I was being purposefully absurd to make a point, one which with you finally agreed that you were very (I’d say ridiculously) judgmental. Maybe we could all take off our partisan glasses. I'll take off mine when you take off yours. Let's summarize: Repiblicans lie, democrats don't. Republicans are responsible for gridlock in Washington and democrats aren't. Only republicans bring race into the campaign, democrats don't.
LOL...again, it's neither a Republican or Democrat thing, both parties have had their fair share of crappy behavior. While I highlight the Big Lie from the new VP candidate, you attempt to bring in other issues rather than just deal with that. OK, I get it...there's really no good defense against a lie, IMO.

Let's go to your summary...Republican lie, so do Democrats...but the Republican VP candidate lied during his 1st week running...bad idea with an easy paper trail to follow. Actually, bad idea period. And you're right, Republicans ARE mainly responsible for the gridlock in Congress....they are the opposition party, and they make NO attempt to work across the aisle. The house leadership makes sure that nothing can pass, no matter how good an idea it may be. The Dems play tit for tat as much as they can, that's true, but the old adage is the President proposes, and the Congress disposes. The sad thing is it doesn't have to be this way...a good idea is a good idea, it shouldn't matter who proposes it. And sometimes a tax raise is a good idea, not that you can convince the tea party types of that. Same goes for tax cuts...GREAT idea for those of us in the middle...as long as the economy is going along well.

And seriously, you cannot even equate what President Obama has had to go through concerning racism vs one throwaway line that was stupid by Biden...it's not even in the same stratosphere.

Sorry I tried to edit my post before you could reply and the site kept signing me out. Probably because I am a right leaning poster!!!

As I said above, and attempted to say early on, why the name calling? We'll agree to disagree on your points about whose at fault for gridlock. BUt if you think you're not partisan, then we'll have to agree to disagree on that as well. I'm done now. I need to eat my dog!

Let me ask you this simple question Bernie...have you voted for a Democrat in the past 10 years? Are you that locked into the ideology of the party that you can't possibly recognize a good idea by the "opposition"? Seriously, you need to use critical thinking as much you can during these times, we, as a country, can't afford to continue this partisan bickering anymore.

And just for the record, I voted for Bush Jr's twice, Bob Dole, Bush Sr. Reagan, and a host of local Republican candidates, both on the state and national level. What the Republicans stand for today is wrong, what the tea party stands for is wrong...IMO.

I voted for Gore and Kerry, the latter because Bush was an idiot but I may have ended up hating Kerry just as much. What the dems stand for today is wrong for this country.

Again, your opinion...I don't know that it's wrong, but I do know that we simply can't continue on without coming to a consensus. Gridlock is killing us as a nation more than any political ideology...and we need to stop the focus on WTF people do in their bedroom and concentrate on making us whole as an economy. Banks have to start lending, businesses have to start hiring, and people have to start spending again. Otherwise, we'll become a wholly owned subsidiary of China Inc...

Why yes I have voted for democratic candidates in the past ten years, thank you asking, but your still missing my point. You used hyper-partisan name calling when talking about Ryan but you give YOUR guy a complete pass. That ins't an example of critical thinking of which you espouse above. That's just critical. And, hyper-partisan trash talk. And, as far as CBox having an opinion, we're all entitled to have one. By the way I voted for Obama's hand picked replacement in the IL senate race a few years ago, Alexi Giannoulias. I'm a banker, and while I thought Alexi was a weak State Treasurer, I believed he might be a good ally on the Senate Banking Commitee. I also live in Illinois where every local politician who wants to win is a registered Democratc. I didn't vote for Obama but I was very close to doing so because of Palin being McCain's VP choice.

I think this is your most intelligent post in this thread. I agree in every point you just made. If I were partisan I would disagree with your point on gay marriage. I don't. I also am pro choice, believe that the government has a responsibility to care for those that help regardless of whether their citizens or not, I'm sensitive to immigration issues and actually like what Obama just did by executive order. I'm an evangelical christian and like most of the evangelical christians I know I am a social liberal and fiscal conservative. I am a member of the only religion that is fair game for discrimination by the public masses. And, yet I'm big enough to admit that Obama has done some good things while in office to forward causes that are important to me. The one cause that he has no grasp on that is extremely important to me is the economy. I even like parts of his health care program. I also love how the public thinks Banks should lend more. That is a bunch of crap. Banks can't lend, its not that they don't want to. Who's at fault for that, ask the FDIC or the other Bank Regulators. THey have an unlimited marketing budget (my tax dollars) to continue to maline Bank's as the cause for slow growth. That's BS flat out. They have collectively made it impossible for Banks to lend money in the market. We can certainly get into this in another thread, if you want, I can go all day everyday on that subject!!!
