Just got my tickets for Fleet Foxes and The Walkmen at the Greek in September (gonna be a busy month for concerts). Gotta love when 2 of your favorite bands are on the same bill.
Saw FF last month as well and they were outstanding. If you're interested in hearing a bootleg of that show, it's available at Dimeadozen.org.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

          • I think I found the 1960's version of Rebecca Black's Friday. Atrocious lyrics ... and quite a famous song apparently. It seems I've been fortunate to avoid it all these years.

I was particularly drawn to verse two, which goes a little something like this:

"If I were a businessman, I'd sit behind a desk.
I'd be so successful; I would scare Wall Street to death.
I would hold a meeting for the press to let them know.
I did it all, 'cause I'm stone in love with you.
            (Stone in love with you)"

            • I saw the Archers of Loaf this past weekend in NYC and they were amazing, it was as if they didn't take 13 years off. Here is a good article about them. Here is my favorite quote.

Do they have any regrets not signing with Maverick Records, the Madonna-led label that offered the band a contract back in their heyday? “We didn’t like the bands that were associated with the label,” front man Eric Bachmann explained. “We don’t want to be associated with Candlebox. I know that’s pretentious, but we’re going to own it.”
And here is their best song.

I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.

My neck still hurts from rocking out.

Have we taken Bjork a bit too much for granted these last 20 years?

                        • Got my 120GB of music on random-repeat ... it just delivered these three tracks back-to-back ... which is something considering all the dross I have lying on there:

Racing In the Street 78, the version from The Promise, not Darkness ...

"Excuse me, while I kiss the sky"

It was one of my favorites albums of last year and I still rock it pretty frequently. They were also my favorite performers at Coachella this year.

I love Bjork, so much so that I have dreams with her in them, although most of the time, she's a little demon pixie and she ends up stabbing me. If you like Bjork, you should certainly check out Sigur Ros/Jonsi....(sorry, I don't know how to make those umlate dots...)
