The music of Chuck Berry

"Maybellene" has always been my favorite.

When it was released in 1955, my father drove from his home in south Arkansas to Little Rock in the middle of the night so he could be at the record store when it opened to buy a copy. This was an impressive example of fandom considering the fact that he didn't own a record player.

When i was around 7 years old i went to a bar/restaurant with my mom and her boyfriend. The restaurant had a jukebox. I think it allowed you to pick 5 songs for 25 cents. So i asked my mom for a quarter and then walked over to the other side of the room by myself to pick some songs. When i returned to our table, the first song that i picked started playing. My mom was horrified and said "Why did you have to pick this song?" I didn't understand why she was so embarrassed and why her boyfriend couldn't stop laughing. The song that i had picked was "My Ding-A-Ling" by Chuck Berry.
