then there's this ... I might stay out of the rooftop pool when in an earthquake zone ...
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Google Maps causes 100 drivers to get stuck in the mud.
Technology isn't always foolproof, as about 100 Colorado drivers learned when Google Maps offered them a supposedly quick way out of a traffic jam.
A crash on Peńa Boulevard, a road leading to Denver International Airport, prompted the app to take drivers on a detour on Sunday.
But it was too good to be true.
The alternate route took drivers down a dirt road that rain had turned into a muddy mess, and cars started sliding around.
Some vehicles couldn't make it through the mud, and about 100 others became trapped behind them.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Do you ever feel drunk when you haven't been drinking? Maybe you have what this guy had.
The man, whose identity has not been revealed, had a rarely diagnosed medical condition called auto-brewery system (ABS), also known as gut fermentation syndrome.
Gut fermentation syndrome occurs when yeast in the gastrointestinal tract causes the body to convert carbohydrates ingested through food into alcohol. The process typically takes place in the upper GI tract, which includes the stomach and the first part of the small intestine.
"These patients have the exact same implications of alcoholism: the smell, the breath, drowsiness, gait changes," Fahad Malik, the study's lead author and the chief internal medicine resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, told CNN. "They will present as someone who's intoxicated by alcohol, but the only difference here is that these patients can be treated by antifungal medications."Last edited by madducks; 10-25-2019, 11:55 PM.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

my first thought was "I have to post this in the Sports Bar".It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.
