This is from the post Johnny kept bumping, post 334 (and 336,338,and 339) in this thread. It's why I assumed we were just playing of the SS numbers and not updating. There really wasn't any discussion on it though.

I also think it might be wise to shift away from baseball-reference when it comes to stat verification. It might be easier just to say that whatever is in latest Lahman sheet is gospel. I'm guessing any changes that the B-R boffins discover will eventually find their way to the Lahman sheet anyway.

Fwiw, my understanding was that the Lehman stats were gospel. No one objected to johnny's statement, so it should stand as law for this draft.
