    Thats very different than my 14 team mixed. Before we added holds (which was stupid) the top closer would go for about $25.

      I still like Santana, and Felix as the first two. If you now include Garcia for a buck and I certainly wouldn't blame you. You now have Upton out again. Who do you like better Kaz or Upton?
      Too tough to call right now, I'll just have to see how they play out the rest of the year.

            Just a month later and a lot has changed. I didn't even list Carrasco but now he has to make the cut, while Upton and Kazmir have been hot garbage.

            Goldschmidt 14 x
            Kipnis 8x
            Escobar 1a
            Santana 5a
            Marte 5b (1 year extension now that Hurdle stopped jerking him around)
            Felix 36a
            Strasburg 13x
            Carrasco 5a
            Porcello 1a
            ~~~~~~ (only 1 from the rest)
            Street 3b
            Span 5a
            Upton 32a
            A Garcia 1a
            Kazmir 11a
              Before I start making offers, I'm curious how much perceptions have changed since August.
              Goldschmidt 14 (O16)
              Kipnis 8x (I have to keep him)
              Escobar 1a
              Santana 5a
              Marte 5b - extend 1 year to 10 or 2 years to 15? Shandler loves him but I've become more conservative vis a vis extensions.
              Felix 36a
              Strasburg 13x
              Carrasco 5a
              ~~~~~~ (only 2 from the rest)
              Beltre 29B - His counting stats were down due to some minor injuries but 3B is weak and other top 3B will be kept (Donaldson, Arenado, Frazier, Harrison).
              Street 3b - Closers are undervalued in this league. While he was one of the best last year, his injury history makes a repeat unlikely.
              Span 5a - I have a lot of steals protected already.
              Upton 32a - moves to Petco but actually has a career .900 OPS there.
              A Garcia 1a - CBS has him projected for great stats and can't beat the price.
              Porcello 1a - Move to Fenway discouraging.
              Kazmir 11a - really tailed off but could just have been fatigue. SPs are overvalued in this league.

              I plan on making a 2 or 3-for-1 deal, here are some of my targets: Cueto 16a, Seager 10a, Lucroy 1b, Iwakuma 2b, Cobb 5b, Lester 14a, Ross 6a.

                For 12-team mixed 5x5 with OB & Slug replacing BA & HR.... I would only extend Marte 1 year. No way I keep Escobar even for a buck. Which Santana is that? Carlos? Danny? Ervin? I'd probably keep Upton from your bottom half list. Guys like Avisail can be found for a buck.

                  Thanks JC...Danny Santana. So replacing Escobar with Upton, that still leaves two more spots from the bottom list.

                    I see the temptation with Beltre. I know Street always seems to miss a month and closers are undervalued but he's so good I'd strongly consider keeping him anyway. If you really believe in Garcia and DON'T think you can get that kind of guy for a buck then I can see him too. Span is a regression candidate but the category changes help him.

                    I probably go Beltre and Span. Or Beltre and Garcia.

                      I'd also ditch Escobar and go with these three:

                      - Street (injury-prone or not, he's nails --- plus at only $3 what's the risk?)
                      - Beltre (but really mostly because you state that most of the other 3B will be unavailable)
                      - Garcia (again, pretty much no risk here)
                      Sums up my thoughts pretty well. I agree with JC to only extend Marte one year.
                      I'm just here for the baseball.

                        Would you rather have a $28 Abreu or $6 Carter? I may have found a trade partner who wants Escobar and Kazmir.

                          Carter at $6 is tempting, but I would rather have Abreu. In a 12 team mixed I want the best top end talent I can get. It looks like you can easily afford him.

                              Same. There are other cheap sources of power like Arcia, Rasmus, etc.

                                Still working on Abreu, but what do you guys think of Baez at 7a? He worked with Manny Ramirez who loves him so this could be the year he busts out, or he could be back in AAA by June. Where would he rank among the group of keepers I'm considering. The guy wants Street but will probably settle for Porcello.
