Because I hate my team. Might sound illogical but I assessed my team and believe it's not equipped to win and I don't care about finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th. I don't even own my #1 pick so it's not about that either. Made some big moves at the time months ago trading Giolito, Josh Bell, Nimmo, #1 pick etc and they guys I got back have been bleh in Verlander, Adrian Gonzalez, etc.
Now when I started to slowly sell off pieces a couple of weeks ago I was 10+ points below where I am now. Had I not sold anyone yet I probably wouldn't have done so now but to me I already had a few toes in the water so what the hell.
The money we play for in this league is not much imo so I manage the team for the long term and really my enjoyment (which leans to prospects). Selling probably doesn't make sense so can't really rationalize it beyond saying I didn't think I could win with what I have and wasn't willing to sell more since I was already close to the cap.Comment
