Unless you're a fan of a particular team, I'm not sure what there is to gain by cluttering your Twitter timeline with a bunch of beat writers who will be tweeting play-by-play and other minutiae when there are aggregators like Rotoworld, RotoWire, MLB Trade Rumors, and Jason Martinez at MLB Depth Charts tweeting or retweeting any news of fantasy significance within a matter of minutes.

I can see this for those in hyper-competitive leagues with first-come, first-served free agent pickups and whose members are constantly on Twitter. Otherwise, not so much.

And we're all nerds that eat, sleep and dream baseball. Is it overkill? Maybe, but we enjoy it.

It's just a personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer as to whether it's necessary.
