It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

        For the Astros:

        Houston Chronicle
        Brian Smith @ChronAstros
        Jose de Jesus Ortiz @OrtizKicks

        MLB.com
        Brian McTaggart @brianmctaggart

If you're looking for breaking news, Brian and Brian are the guys to follow. Jose is good for background.
"Jesus said to them, 'Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the kingdom of God ahead of you.'"

Thanks for starting this list, very useful!!! For Cards, if you had to pick one, I'd go with https://twitter.com/dgoold - Derrick Goold does an incredible job of responding honestly to individual questions about playing time.

Unless you're a fan of a particular team, I'm not sure what there is to gain by cluttering your Twitter timeline with a bunch of beat writers who will be tweeting play-by-play and other minutiae when there are aggregators like Rotoworld, RotoWire, MLB Trade Rumors, and Jason Martinez at MLB Depth Charts tweeting or retweeting any news of fantasy significance within a matter of minutes.

So you can get information before those that count on the aggregators to sort through many of the same sources.

I can see this for those in hyper-competitive leagues with first-come, first-served free agent pickups and whose members are constantly on Twitter. Otherwise, not so much.

And we're all nerds that eat, sleep and dream baseball. Is it overkill? Maybe, but we enjoy it.

It's just a personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer as to whether it's necessary.

Corey Brock @FollowThePadres is a good one for Padre info - also a micro brew aficionado who can tell you the good ones in each city
