To win a 20-team league, you need a bunch of unexpected stuff to happen, so if you expect someone to outperform expectations, there's no shame in taking him, especially if you're pretty sure he won't make it back to you.

I took my AL league last year by getting guys like Mauer, Dunn and Rios at a discount because they were coming off down years, and ignoring concerns that Kuroda wouldn't make the transition from the Dodgers to the Yankees well. If you really like a guy, and he is showing up in mocks as having been picked sometime in the next 30 or 40 picks, there's no reason not to pull the trigger.

Never would have expected King Carl that early. Then again a lot of these guys seem too early. I think I just need to accept that this league is crazy deep and move on.

Yeah it is. That kid is still at Stanford so I thought it might be somewhat funny but it failed and I broke the rule so double fail. lol

Ike Davis was probably a reach on my part but I needed a home run hitter. I also wanted to veer away from the Forecaster listings since it seems as if many of the teams are using this as the basis for their selections and it somehow bothers me that this is so. I decided that I would rather infuse more of me into my choices.

I thought about Mauer bit his lack of power is a big negative for me and while he swipes a few bags its not enough to get excited about. Lotsa depth at C so i will wait.

Not a big deal, it's not like people don't know who those guys are but it's best not mention anyone til they are drafted. I didn't really want to call you out specifically and felt it was a good time to remind people, especially since we have at least one person new to the mock drafts.
