Any particular players/pitchers you would target?

As noted above, Swanson, Marte, Carter, Teo, and Mullins don't excite me. I own Mullins and I'm throwing him back in and someone like Ian Happ will likely be available for my next pick. A SP would help but Verlander seems pricey and Bassitt is meh.

In other news, I am talking myself into using the # 21 pick on Alec Bohm's option. His stock has been slowly rising, I need a 1B, and the plus BA makes drafting Schwarber doable. A cherry is that he attended my Alma Mater.
    Two quick questions:
    1. You said you use OBA which I interpret as OBP. If so, why do you care about Bohm or Schwarber’s AVG?

    2. In an OBP league, why do you believe Schwarber will still be available with the 9th pick?

I think you might be higher on Bohm than his value warrants. I like Schwarber, Marte, Swanson & Happ ahead of him…and would probably take Teo, Mullins, Muncy & Hoskins before him too.

With all those options available, I’d probably keep Iglesias and draft a player better than Bohm with your first pick. I would not be surprised if Bohm is still available with your second and probably third pick (#41 overall), and if not, the 41st player on your list is Hoskins who should outperform Bohm.

Some good points made here. I still am not sure Iglesias is a keeper, though that decision has apparently been made

Unless something changes in the next five days, this is the keeper roster as it is in the format requested by the Commish.

In each case, the round indicates the cost of keeping the player, eg Jhoan Duran cost the pick in the 7th round. Since three keepers are mandatory (*), round 4 is the first round of the actual draft.

Bear in mind that this is 16 teams with OBA and holds.

Round 1*: Gerrit Cole NYY - SP (4)
Round 2*: Ronald Acuña Jr. ATL - OF (4)
Round 3*: Luis Robert Jr. CWS - OF (4)
        Round 4:
        Round 5:
        Round 6:
Round 7: Jhoan Duran MIN - RP (7)
        Round 8:
        Round 9: Andrés Giménez CLE - 2B,SS (9)
        Round 10`: Gunnar Henderson BAL - 3B,SS (10)
Round 11`: Gavin Williams CLE - SP (190)
        Round 12`: Logan O'Hoppe LAA - C (209)
Round 13`: Elly De La Cruz CIN - 3B,SS (13)
Round 14`: Dylan Cease CWS - SP (14)
        Round 15`:
        Round 16`:
        Round 17`:
        Round 18: Pete Crow-Armstrong CHC - OF (18)
        Round 19:
Round 20: Brandon Pfaadt ARI - SP (20)
        Round 21:
        Round 22:
Round 23: Jackson Merrill SD - SS (23)
        Round 24:
        Round 25:
Round 26: Wyatt Langford TEX - OF (26)

I don't have him and someone else will keep him.

What I did not realize, because I didn't check, is that Yamamoto is one of the off-book picks. Mine is Langford.

Update: Keeper declarations have started. I'll post significant players released.

Our returning Champion brings back Freeman, Soto, Yordan, and the best SP in the league--Gausman, Castillo, and Lopez. For bargains, he has Nolan Jones in the 11th, Alzolay in the 15th, and Jackson H in the 22nd. He's had Soto for 7 seasons. Next year he finally has to pay retail.

I'm the second in case that was not clear.

Our third kept players he should have thrown back. I move up a pick in round 4 (the first actual round)

Our # 2 is holding things up. I inserted a guess based on my evaluations and his style.

Another contender posted his roster. As is typical for him, tons of SP.

He got Goldschmidt and Judge from me in separate transactions years ago. I'd the Goldschmidt deal again since flags fly forever. Giving up Judge as a prospect value is one of my true regrets.

We are getting close to the end of keeper designations.

Here is a look at how the first half of the draft looks for my team. Still coming Wyatt Langford and some prospects, but the commish hasn't posted that far yet. The OP should give you some idea of the value available in rounds 5 - 9. Inflation is significant early.

                  .
                  1. (11) Gerrit Cole (NYY - SP)
                  2. (27) Ronald Acuña (ATL - OF)
                  3. (43) Luis Robert (CWS - OF)
                  4. (59) Pick

                  7. (107) Jhoan Duran (MIN - RP)
                  8. (123) Andrés Giménez (CLE - 2B)
                  9. (139) Pick
                  10. (155) Gunnar Henderson (BAL - 3B,SS)

This reminds me of when my local league used to have our live draft in the private dining room of the local Ponderosa restaurant. It was at the back of the restaurant and had an exit door into the back alley. One of our league members worked as a cook there and always requested the day off and reserved the room for us for the third Sunday in March. He was a smoker and would frequently step out the back door to grab a quick smoke and would peek back in to check on the auction bidding. One year it was pretty cold and windy and someone bitched at him and said: "You're letting all the cold air in." And someone else said: "Yeah, it does feel like there's a draft in here."

Back in the days of cards and dice, we would set the player card out on three big tables--IF, OF, and Pitching. You would have three minutes to pick up a card. Toward the end, you might have three people browsing.

One time I was browsing the OF and couldn't find one I liked, so I called the name of the pitcher I wanted. The guy in line after me literally had the card in his hand. Since he hadn't turned it in the Commish ruled my pick was valid.

Keepers are declared, so the list of available players will become official soon. I'll post the top several when I am coming up. The clear first pick is Altuve but it gets murky soon after.

228 players were kept. The list is too long to load.
