"You know what's wrong with America? If I lovingly tongue a woman's nipple in a movie, it gets an "NC-17" rating, if I chop it off with a machete, it's an "R". That's what's wrong with America, man...."--Dennis Hopper
"One should judge a man mainly from his depravities. Virtues can be faked. Depravities are real." -- Klaus Kinski

fresnobob pointed me to a cheap Fred Lewis a few years back - a little local knowledge can be gold!
and yes, for all some of us kid GITH about his Padres prognosticating, he provides a ton of info that is not so quickly found somewhere else. I'd love to see more of those, especially for those teams that just don't get a lot of attention on the main fantasy sites.finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5

There is less debate and discussion, which contributes. But I also think, like someone already said, it's the forum format — I love it, always have, but the younger generation doesn't use it as much. I've been part of a band-based group for over a decade that was a Yahoo group. It was petering out till we moved it over to Facebook and made it a private group there. It's been reborn in a big way, just because it's at a location and in a format people are already using all the time. Not saying that's what needs to happen here, but it sure would help if we could get the reputation out that this place has always been a springboard for people who share insights and then go on to become professionals at it. Surely there are some wanna-be's out there.
In any case, bring on the 2k13 threads.

I will pledge to be more active in responding to the 2013 "who do I freeze", "do I make this trade", "who do I target in the auction", and "HDID" threads. I tend to lay back, since there are so many people who are so much better than I am in this regard, but perhaps the more viewpoints we generate the better it will be in the aggregate.
Anyway, that may not be much, but it is something I can do which might help. And I think we still have a tremendous amount of baseball savvy here. I miss Paul Sporer, too, but maybe we can entice him to visit more often. I know he has a lot of fans here.
Plus, the more baseball threads, the more KS posts we have, which is always a good thing.

A lot has already been said. For me I still can not get on on my work computer. I check on my phone, but not the same.
Getting breaking news like trades is obsolete with Twitter or mlbtraderumors and that was always an advantage of the forum. In many cases we would see it before Rotoworld. That said, the analysis is really what should be the driver and why you should visit. We always list transactions, but if we did a better job giving a little blurb on any cause and effect that may provide some more activity by any lurker.

That seems to be a fairly common theme and one that would be well worth addressing, if possible.
