the rockies are done interviewing manager candidates. the next front office stooge will be either:

      1 - matt williams
      2 - walt weiss
      3 - jason giambi
      4 - tom runnells

insiders are betting on williams to edge weiss.

To the people that think we'll eventually lose Timmy to the Rockies, you've never been to SF.

Phillies signed Kevin Frandsen for 1 yr $850,000.

Depending on what else they do this off-season, Frandsen may see decent time next year at 3rd.

Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

An interesting, although insignificant minor league trade occurred on November 1. The White Sox traded their ex-GM's son Kenny Williams Jr to the Rockies for their ex-manager's son Mark Tracy.

                          LOL, indeed.
Indeed, it was a pea brain signing by a pea brain GM whose pea brain-assembled team has won two of the last three World Series. Perhaps the Giants' pea brain GM is unable to pass his particular pea brained results on to his pea brained acolytes who move on to become pea brained GMs elsewhere, in the same way that such NFL luminaries as Jimmy Johnson and Bill Belichick have been unable to transfer their success to their minions, but he has had some pretty good results himself. For a pea brain, that is.

Affeldt was one of only 4 LH relievers in baseball to combine a 55% GB rate with 8Ks per 9, can you name the other 3?
