  • Even though I was around (at the office, entering tax returns, oh joy, oh rapture), Horns was ahead of me. Thanks for entering my pick.

The only way I can justify my pick is to say that I felt the need for speed. That, and all the other 2B options came with either nothing to recommend them or with concerns serious enough to overwhelm their good points.

        • So many of the guys I was considering for 14.17 have been swiped in this round.

I already regret deciding to plug the two big holes in my lineup (C and 2B) rather than add a SP. My pitching list has gone all to hell. It had to be done before those two spots get really dreadful, but it still hurts to see so many of my best remaining get taken.

Still two rotations and one OF with no one picked. The former says a lot about those two teams.

Saves may not have a face, but bad WHIP is butt ugly. It's times like this when you should pray that Rodney's projected WHIP around 1.50 is wrong.

revo--Thanks a million. Johnson was #1 on my hitters list.

His point being that, barring something like Brad Lidge 2009, a closer doesn't get enough innings to irreparably harm your ratio stats. We'll see. Anyway, I'm putting the theory to the test by drafting Rodney.

For your sake, I hope Rodney doesn't do something Chaconian.

                    • I tend to avoid guys like that when I'm playing for money. But here I'm not, so...

My main league only has 8 active pitcher spots, so that provides further incentive to get the better closers.

AWwwwwww. You suck. I wanted him, but thought that I should take a 2nd baseman before there were none and get Jair on the return. Played that one wrong.

                        • Jair is one of two guys I wanted for my next pick. Let's hope the other one isn't taken too.

Two stretch picks here. Had Rodriguez & Wiggington at the top of my list so had to scramble a bit here
Well, I'm glad that you had Rodriguez on your list because my top 2 were Jurrjens and Chapman. First time all draft I've been totally stumped.

                            • I really had no idea what to do here. I like about one guy at each position and anyone could be picked at any time, or could last another 40 picks. Hopefully Bard wasn't too much of a reach.

Anyway....I'm on an Airplane to Dallas at 7:30 AM Pacific tomorrow....If my turn is not up by then I will log on when I hit DFW.
