Read a rumor that said basically Shields and Zobrist to the Angels for Kendrick, Richards and Hellweg. Just doesn't make sense to me as Kendrick has about 3/27.5M left on his deal and Shields is 2/21 and Zobrist with options picked up is 3/20.

If the D-Backs really want a major league ready 3B, maybe the Pirates should be in on a 3-team trade. Flip Cole to SD for Headley (and hopefully something else), then flip Headley and Marte to the D-Backs for Upton. Headley is under team control for 2013.
I'm not convinced Upton is worth that price, and if they had Headley it might just make more sense to hold onto him. But it's an interesting idea.Comment
