Chris Davis? He countered with Davis/NJohnson for Revere/Capps. Davis for Capps might be fair.

I guess that depends on how much you believe in Chris Davis. How bad does this guy need saves? He would be getting 2 guys from you that could significantly impact the steals and saves catagories. I don't like that last offer he made. I prefer A-Rod for Capps if you can. Maybe throw him Gentry if you need to because Revere will get a lot more steals for you.

Adams, League, Balfour and Farnsworth are his sources of saves. He's currently at 8, so he probably wants someone to fill the void and will move a closer if Farnsworth regains the job. He perpetually wins the league, and in recent years he has left money on the table. I won in 2001 and 2005 and I think he's won it every other year. He sits out for the first few rounds of the auction, buys guys at good value and seems to pick the last good players out of the rubble, and usually wins the trades he makes. Despite knowing this, he still can't seem to be stopped.

I agree, Revere is too big a piece to include in that deal. He FAABed Johnson a week ago. I can see him doing A-Rod for Capps and Gentry. Do I offer that now, or wait?

I do have Benoit who probably won't close for long but I'm hoping he picks up a few saves this week. Strop got me one this week.

            And so it begins...

Pumps trade Bruce Chen, Alex Rodriguez and Felix Doubront to The Melbourne dry heat for Jon Lester and Brandon League.
Pumps trade Chris Parmelee and Chris Davis to Islanders for Danny Valencia and Joe Nathan.

Out of the blue he offered Ortiz/Komatsu for Revere/Johnson.

I'm thinking of countering with Revere/Capps for Ortiz. Good for me?

Offered. We'll see. Ortiz' first half splits are better so I think he's trying to sell high. I know he has a hidden agenda, and am protective of my players that he tries to get in trades.

LOL...a minute before I offered that he offered:

                  Ortiz/Raburn/Doumit for Gentry/Revere/BPena/Johnson.

I didn't see it until after I sent my offer. Looks fair but I told him I'd need to be overwhelmed to move Johnson.

                    Ortiz is on both sides?

Obviously Raburn is worthless at this point and Doumit wouldn't supplant Napoli so his trade wouldn't help you much. I'd continue to hold out until you were overwhelmed.

Fixed. He asked for BPena, whom Doumit would replace.

He accepted. He had a couple other offers. He's punting HR/RBI and looking for speed and saves. I don't think he can finish first in a 10-teamer.
