Seriously though, if this really is Wheeler for Beltran, I'll happily take it. I love Beltran, but that would be a nice deal for someone they can't get draft picks for in the offseason.

Hairston is tough on lefties iirc; I'd expect a platoon.
If Ike Davis was coming back (doubt it), they'd have to consider Murphy (hitting over .360 in last 250 AB or so) for LF, though he struggled there in 2009. But looks like Murphy stays at 1B.

Beltran currently has career totals of 295 home runs and 292 stolen bases. He would be only the seventh member of the 300/300 club joining Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Bobby Bonds, Andre Dawson, Reggie Sanders, and Steve Finley.
Beltran could also break the record for all-time stolen base percentage for players with 300 or more steals. Tim Raines is the current leader with a percentage of .847 (808 sb, 146 cs). Beltran currently has a percentage of .882 (292 sb, 39 cs).“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Beltran, when healthy, has been a superstar. And postseason heroics, of course.
Interesting athlete, too. If he's healthy down the stretch, the Giants will be a force. Just beat the Phillies twice, first time in months anyone did that...finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5
