torn elbow ligament per just about every Yankees writer on Twitter.

weird. he said the other day he was going to try to pitch through it as it was just a dull pain near his elbow. Yanks pen looks like trash......
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

I see Hughes returning from the DL as the 8th inning guy.

not with the rotation the Yanks are putting out there. Theyll trade for a couple of shorties which is much easier to get than quality SP.

Putting Hughes in MR will just lead to this happening to him as well.

Plenty of MR's out there on the market from teams

Some names the Yankees should be looking at... relievers doing well this year

            Tyler Clippard
            Mark Melancon
            Daniel McCutchen

Well the "Rules" seem to have not worked real well with the careers of Joba & Hughes.

              Brett Anderson, Strasburg, etc.

Is there any data that really supports the cautious approach to young arms?

Will this speed up the arrival of one or more of the "B's" (Betances/Banuelos/Brackman) to the majors?

Either on the Yankees, or another team after a trade to acquire pitching.

My "rules" joke was the Starter _ relief _ starter screwing around they did with him.

Choose a role and stick him in it.

I doubt Melancon is on the market.

I think he was being tongue-in-cheek as all are former Yankees' relievers.

This is one reason why the Yankees sign/trade for veteran pitchers most of the time. They don't seem to know what to do with young ones.

Joba's an exciting pitcher, hope he makes a successful recovery.

Heard Giradi say today Joba played long toss with no problem and theres no swelling. Sounds like this could be premature.

He said in the interview that Joba played long toss yesterday and didn't feel anything wrong, but then the MRI today revealed a major ligament tear. So he said he thought that was strange. Still doesn't change the fact Joba has major elbow damage, although TJ surgery has not been declared yet.

If I remember correctly didn't Joba have plenty of injuries while at Nebraska. He clearly was a ticking time bomb. Too bad, he was having a decent season.
