What a nasty HBP....broke his cheekbone and his nose. Says he "may be able to return this season." Sounds ominous.....

Brett Jackson would have been on his way next month but he's hurt with some sort of finger injury. Supposed to be back soon though."The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable." -NY Times
"For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts" - Joe Biden

He just jammed his pinkie. Supposed to only be out a week (as of last week), so... maybe soon?In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Rotoworld (Does not sound like a week)
Marlon Byrd (facial fractures) hopes to play again this season.
Byrd was released from the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary on Sunday and later spoke to reporters. He was hit in the head by an Alfredo Aceves pitch on Saturday. Byrd is able to see out of his left eye, but it's swollen and bruised. There's no current timetable for his return. Reed Johnson and Jeff Baker should pick up at-bats in Byrd's absence.

a bit more about the Brett Jackson injury/recovery:
(quick summary: strained a ligament in his pinkie, at extended spring training now, should be playing again by the end of the week)In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. Looks like they think Jackson will be in AAA very soon which I assume Cubs mgmt would like him to stay at for a month or more before being called up to the majors."The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable." -NY Times

Rick Brown of the Des Moines Register reported last night that it will indeed be Lou Montanez who gets the callup today. It is probably likely that either he or Campana will be sent down whenever the front office thinks that Brett Jackson is ready, but who knows when that moment will come.
