New York Mets first baseman Ike Davis will be placed back in a boot for three weeks after an MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan on Tuesday revealed his injured left ankle is not healing.

Head trainer Ray Ramirez told Collins he had "never seen" this long a recovery time for an injury of this type, according to the manager.

      Rotoworld:

David Wright (back) will undergo an X-ray Thursday to determine when he can resume baseball activities.
Wright hasn't played since May 15 due to a stress fracture in his lower back. The Mets previously hoped that he would be able to return before their current 10-game homestand concludes on June 5, but we should know a lot more about his status later in the week.
Find that level above your head and help you reach it.

Looks like he's done until the AS Break.....

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Friday that David Wright (back) will not begin baseball activities for at least another three weeks.
Awful news. Based on the previous X-ray, doctors have determined that Wright is not progressing as originally hoped. The initial timeframe seemed pretty optimistic anyway, but he'll now likely be sidelined until July. Daniel Murphy and Justin Turner have filled in admirably for Wright and Ike Davis, but it's going to be very difficult for the Mets to remain competitive over the next few weeks.

David Wright is on track to return to the Mets lineup in approximately three weeks.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Yeah, seriously, I trust the Mets' timetables for injury recovery less than I trust Anthony Weiner.
